Surviving the heat weather in Nigeria

Hi Sweeties, Its no news that the heat weather in Nigeria is so on us! Chooo...even while bathing, you are sweating , lolz. Infact, everyone looks so stressed by evening as a result of the heat stress on us.

Below are some tips to reduce the heat stress this period:

  • Try as much as possible to bathe regularly and always bathe at night before sleeping.
  • Wear cotton clothes during this period. This is important as cotton clothes absorbs heat better than other textiles. Also, use cotton bedspread and pillow cases.
  • Open up windows and doors to allow air and cross-ventilation into the house. If you do not have "netted" doors and windows, please do so to avoid mosquitoes and other rodents from entering into your home.
  • Make use of umbrellas and sunshades when walking under the sun. This would protect your skin and eyes.
  • The light situation in Nigeria is currently terrible, however on days when there is power supply, ensure to use air conditioning and the fan to circulate the air.
  • If you can, wear clothes that are light in material. Try as much as possible to avoid wearing long sleeves especially if you are not always in a cool environment.
  • Drink a lot of cold refreshing water regularly as the tendency to feel dehydrated is high in this period.
  • Take a break off work to move around and exercise your body as heat also tends to cramp the muscles
  • Finally, take a walk at evenings as much as you can.
I hope the above tips help us survive this heat period. Have a beautiful weekend darlings!

The Perfect Weekend Treat

How are y'all doing sweeties? Couldnt update my blog as I have been busy all week but yes!grateful its Friday...Yippeeee!!!

Okay, so what is the perfect weekend treat? Usually, weekends are meant for bonding with your family especially for the married folks, resting from the busy week, refreshing and you know--spending time with our maker in our different places of worship.

Now, there are various places we can go have a weekend treat and not just stay at home especially if you stay in Lagos:

1) Lekki conservative centre: With about #2,000, you get entry and have fun. See the animals, nature wonders and snap loadz of pictures.

2) Beaches: Lagos state has been blessed with different beaches and with a meagre sum of about #1,000, you can be at the beach unwinding and letting go of that work stress.

3) Hang-out with friends: You can call up those buddies of yours (especially those that are fun to be with) and you can all go hangout at your favourite spots.

Even if you dont have so much cash in your pockets, you can still lounge...lolz.

So this is wishing you all the best weekend ever and you can drop your own idea of your fav weekend spot in the comment section below. CIAO

Getting that great bedroom furnishing you have always desired

Going home each day to a beautiful bedroom is everyone's wish, right? You really do not need much to get this done and whoo-laa, your bedroom is looking all beautiful.

  1. Use the right blend of colors, for example:White & Red, Grey & White, Teal & Red, Green & Cream, Yellow Gold & White and other color mixtures. For me, I would rather an all white with red trimmings *winks*
  2. Do not fill the whole room space with furniture but keep it as simple as possible. The basic things that needs to be in your bedroom include a bed, table, chair, bedside table (optional), a small library locker (optional but I love this), Perfect lightings such as white bulbs is preferable especially in cases where you might need to read.
  3. You can decide to use a rug, carpet or just go with the tiles on the floor. *My favorite option is the rug*. You could also have a television, dvd and music set in your bedroom too *My bedroom happens to be my favourite spot in a house*
  4. Use mild decorations on the wall like paintings, wallpapers, award achievements *This would remind you of your happy moments*
  5. Use bright curtains and allow fresh air into your bedrrom so it smells nice all day long
I hope the above tips help you arrange your new bedroom or re-arrange your existing bedroom. CIAO!!!
